Dishing out “artist” chemistry cards all over the shop, adidas today launch the Exhibit Pack, a new collection of paintjobs for the Copa, Predator, X and Nemeziz that are set to make creators out of anyone with the skills to back up the flamboyant look.

Each of the four boots has been decked out in its own unique colour scheme, representing different types of creativity, and the collection is strictly for “creators only, no f*kers”. Expect a strongly worded email from adidas if you score an OG in any of these. Still interested? Let’s get into it then.

First to display its wares is the Copa, which retains the predominantly black styling of its previous work, here though adding a significant splash of colour around the collar, along with accents on the soleplate, three stripes, and COPA lettering on the rear. The additional colour is the popular Solar Yellow, as seen on many packs over recent years, which looks especially good with a black base. Expect Paolo Dybala to add these to his on-pitch collection once he’s finished with the 70 Year Anniversary Mundial.
Regular readers might have noticed that we have a bit of thing for blue boots – and this is the best blue Predator yet. It’s the silver secondary colour that makes the difference, complementing both the main Bold Blue of the upper and the Active Red accents on the ridges and collar stretch reveal. It’s not easy to find a colour that joins red and blue together, so kudos to the designer, who definitely fits into the creator category. The exuberant Paul Pogba, of course, will be donning the Predator on-pitch.
Experimenting with a more vibrant palette, the X strolls into the gallery with an eye-catching combination of red, blue, and silver similar to the Initiator Pack’s Messi-edition Nemeziz. There’s no yellow here though, as the Active Red upper is joined by a Bold Blue and Silver Metallic soleplate, along with silver three stripes. This is perhaps the truest test of the Exhibit Pack’s “creators only” concept – if you’re bold enough to wear these, you’d better have some serious skills. Like Gabriel Jesus, for example.
What were we saying about the X? Yeah, forget that – the Nemeziz is easily the flashiest boot in this particular exhibition. Solar Yellow upper plus Solar Yellow soleplate equals a brightness level approaching that of the actual sun. Blue three stripes bring the boot back to Earth, but spectators are still going to need shades when you dazzle them with tekkers in these. Who’s wearing them? Firmino and Bernardo Silva for sure, and we’ve got a sneaky feeling football’s greatest creator, Leo Messi, will be lacing up in them too.
The adidas Exhibit Pack, including the COPA 19, Predator 19, X 18 and Nemeziz 18 with FG, SG and AG options available, is out now at
