Right, let’s get to it…

hardwired bag

First, a bit of background to the Hard Wired name. Adidas are still keen to make it known these boots are for creators only, for those who express themselves and dare to create. For us, the Hard Wired pack translates better as letting your instincts do the talking, where the moves, passes and strikes you make are so second nature they’re ‘hard wired’ into your game.

Whichever way you take it, this is the collection you’ll see adidas’ endorsed players taking to the pitch with as club duties kick off. Think Ozil, Pogba, Rakitic; Salah, Firmino, Bale; Dybala, Di Maria, Jovic and of course Messi. No signature colourway for the G.O.A.T. this time though.

Whilst there’s no new models in the Hard Wired pack, what we do get is a full complement of boots spread across a load of different prices and sole plate options. It’s pretty comprehensive, and means you can choose the look you want, for the surface you want, at the price you want. And that makes for a decent collection if you ask us.

The Hard Wired pack follows a small degree of separation logic to link the colours between the boots – it’s a bit of a stretch, but put simply each of the main colours of one boot featuring as the secondary colour on another. The bold, block-coloured Copa and Nemeziz are the ones that grab the attention, in fact this is definitely the loudest Copa 19 so far with an intense ‘Solar Yellow’ paint job. If you’ve found previous Copa 19 releases just too subtle for your style, you’ll have no arguments here. An overstated colour for a very understated boot.

The Nemeziz, if it was possible, goes even more outrageous with an all-over pink colourway very aptly named ‘Shock Pink’. If you want the attention on the pitch, head straight for this boot and you’ll actually be surprised there’s more bite behind the bark.

The Predator and X19 take on blue in two different ways, adding the collar in black makes the Predator visually more aggressive, whilst the brighter tone used for the X gives the boot a lighter and sleeker look.

The Predator in laceless form gets some additional graphic treatment across the upper, similar in design to the previous 302 Redirect release. The bright cyan and black combo makes for one impressive looking boot, and like the rest of the collection the laceless plus models get the added glamour of chromed up sole plates. This is one boot that is going to look decent under the floodlights.

For looks alone, the X19 is our pick of the drop. The almost transparent upper, this time in a cool cyan blue fade has us reminiscing over an adidas classic in the F50. Add in a few subtle pink accents and it’s a colour execution that always looks great on an adidas speed boot. That’s our choice, but let’s hear from you, which of the Hard Wired pack is you favourite?
