Nike and Man City Celebrate 6 Year Anniversary
The shirt itself is comprised of the most iconic colourways throughout the years all mashed together for one unique, celebratory shirt. There are a total of 9 shirts featured within the design.
City’s previous badge is etched at the back of shirt and is an ode’ to the initial crest used in the original shirt Nike created for the club. All the strips converge in the centre featuring elements of previous iterations.
Among the kits is the home shirt from City’s legendary centurion season in 2017/18 in which they broke the Premier League record points tally, donned by the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and John Stones; and the third shirt from their domestic double winning campaign in 2013/14, worn by midfield lynchpin Fernandinho.
This limited-edition shirt will be debuted on pitch as a pre-match option this weekend against Fulham in the English Premier League and worn for the remaining fixtures.
Rising star and homegrown talent Phil Foden is one of the select few to have worn every single shirt produced within the partnership; ‘My personal favourite is the away shirt from 2017, I scored my first goal wearing that so it means a lot me. It’s great because the fans will be able to point out the shirts and relive the memories created in them’.
There’ll be 6,000 units in total, each of which will be individually numbered. The Nike x Manchester City celebration shirt is available to order online from April 10 at prodirectsoccer.com
