Part of the Jordan x Paris Saint-Germain collection, Nike give their most prized silo, the Mercurial, a special edition makeover to showcase this huge collaboration between two major sporting brands.

Check out the finer details of this limited edition release below.
Never shy of a collab, the Mercurial since its launch earlier this year has already seen two major players from the fashion world put their own spin on the fastest speed boot in the game.First we saw English fashion designer Kim Jones give the Mercurial Superfly a Cheetah-inspired print, which was created through his admiration for animals and in this case the fastest land animal of them all, the cheetah.

Shortly after that, Nike handed over their design tools to the highly respectable Virgil Abloh. Known for his unique style, the inspiration behind the Mercurial Vapor XII was about bridging the gap between the foot and the eye with the different coloured dots on the upper representing the optimal place to strike the ball. Interesting fact here: what do Kim Jones and Virgil Abloh share in common? They’ve both worked for Louis Vuitton, whose headquarters are in Paris. So it only seems fitting really that Paris Saint-Germain was the club of choice for this crossover between football and basketball.
This though is not the first time we’ve seen a Nike football boot endorse the famous Jumpman logo. Back in 2016, we saw Neymar receive two special edition Hypervenom Phantom II boots with design details that were incorporated from the Brazilian’s favourite Jordan shoe, the Air Jordan V.

Just like then, the Mercurial No.10 will be the main headline act wearing these for the Parisian club. Tech-wise, these Vapor boots don’t feature anything different from previous versions, but the aesthetics of the boots are made up of stunning details, which follow a similar design pattern to that seen on the Air Jordan 13 shoe.
The classy black upper includes an all-over dotted pattern, which with the Nike swoosh, reflects when coming into contact with bright lights to sparkle like a diamond, while the added touch of red on the heel and matte finish soleplate makes these very pleasing on the eye. Sitting on the heel is the famous Jumpman logo, while inside the boot is a nod to the city with the Jordan x Paris logo on the insoles.

The best collab for the Mercurial boot so far? We’ll let you decide that.

The Nike Mercurial Vapor 12 Elite Jordan PSG edition is available in strictly limited numbers at from September 14th, 2018. Don't miss this one.
