Nike Launch Terra Pack
All the stars have come out for the release of the Nike Terra pack which has seen the Phantom VNM Elite, Mercurial Superfly VII Elite and Mercurial Vapor XIII Elite get an astronomy-inspired makeover to add some sparkle to the dark and dreary winter months.
These boots have been built for the Galacticos. We can tell the pros are into these boots as they’ve only just been released but we’ve already seen them in action on pitch way back during the last international break.
The USA’s latest superstar in the making, Sergiño Dest, wore the Superfly during his competitive international debut and he’s not the only one loving them, with the Harry Kane and Eden Hazard set to follow suit in the VNM and Vapor respectively.
We can understand why some of the biggest names in the universe want to get in on these boots. They look special and it’s the details which set this pack apart from regular drops.
The Swoosh are being a little secretive about this launch but one thing’s for sure, the Desert Sand colour on the Vapor and Superfly steals the show. It has a platinum effect with tiny golden speckles on the indents of the Flyknit upper which have been created by the NIKESKIN coating.
The result actually sparkles like the stars that will be wearing them. Blue and green colouring on the split-tooling soleplate offer a bold contrast and the section around the heel that wraps under the foot has a distorted, dotty effect which is giving us strong Milky Way vibes. The stretched, deconstructed Swoosh has an ever-so-slight glittery effect but you’ll have to get your hands on a pair from prodirectsoccer.com to fully appreciate that.
The VNM is also mostly Desert Sand colour with lime tech call outs, insole and Swoosh. A chrome, Psychic Purple soleplate reminds us of a twilight sky and the Planet logo sits at the base of the heel and on the inside. The Swoosh is black and features the Honeycomb micro-texture to make it twinkle under the lights and in wet conditions.
Tech-wise, the VNM, Superfly and Vapor are identical to their cousins from other launches. That means you get the incredible lockdown and speed of the Superfly and Vapor, as well as the goal-getting power and precision of the VNM.
So, this unique drop could be a one off, with no news yet about whether the Planet brand will reappear for the other Nike boots like the Tiempo, Premier or the upcoming VSN II.
