Silver doesn’t always mean second place, as Nike ably demonstrate today with the release of the Black/Metallic Silver Premier II. Stealing a march on its competition in the classics arena, it’s the first of a few new Premier colourways to be launched this month. If the other designs match up to the levels set here, we’re in for a great start to the year.
It’s the silver Swoosh that really catches the eye, wrapping around the back of the boot with all the splendour of a particularly expensive piece of jewellery. The other silver accents come in the form of a tongue panel, “NIKE” lettering, and stud tips, perfectly complementing the all-black upper and providing a nice little homage to the Legend II.
Let’s be honest though, you’re doing the Premier a disservice if you try to keep those silver bits in pristine, trophy-cabinet condition: this is a boot designed to cope with the rough and tumble of amateur football. Especially in the winter, that means dealing with the mud baths that are Sunday League six-yard boxes, making good traction a necessity. Thankfully, with that in mind, Nike have again included an Anti-Clog option to keep you on your feet and in control of the game on soft-ground surfaces.
Exclusive to Pro:Direct, the Nike Premier II Black/Metallic Silver SG-PRO AC is out now at Firm-ground FG version also available.
