Romelu Lukaku Limited Edition Puma King Platinum RL
Certain boots come and go but the King lives on forever. One the most recognisable boots in world football is starting a new chapter in Italy, as new Internazionale star, Romelu Lukaku has expanding his partnership with Puma to wear a recreation of the same Puma King’s his Father wore playing football in Belgium.
The Belgian giant has been with Puma since June 2018, now his first competitive game for Inter Milan against Lecce on 26th August will be the first time we see the King Platinum RL. On pitch this classic boot of the past will solely be endorsed by Lukaku for one game only.
Tech-wise the boot is identical to the previous silos of the Platinum brought out in June by Puma. The platinum is applied with the latest performance technology. Maintaining that aesthetically pleasing look loved by generation after generation.
Having a boot specifically designed for you is every young footballer dream. Now, Lukaku, has the chance to walk in the footsteps of his late father who played for RFC Seraing in the Belgian First Division in the 90’s, wearing Puma King’s with identical design.
Lukaku told Puma: “Indirectly I feel connected with the shoes. My Dad was wearing these shoes scoring goals with the these in the Belgium First Division. In the year I was born in ’93, he was wearing these shoes basically.
“At a later age me and my dad would wear the same size shoe. For a good 4 to 4 years we used to share boots. It’s nice to see the new version of these compared to the version my father would wear.
“Now, twenty-five years later, I sign with Puma and they make the same boot in the same year.”
