One hun’ed. Back in February, Man United’s David De Gea racked up his 100th clean sheet for the club, shutting out rivals Liverpool in the 0-0 at Old Trafford. The Spaniard’s one of only 15 keepers to have reached the landmark total in the Premier League, which just goes to show how big of an achievement it is – especially since he’s done it after only 267 games, the quickest of anyone on the list.

Justifiably, then, adidas have blessed De Gea with a special edition glove to honour the feat, which he wore for the first time against Watford last weekend. It’s a signature version of the Predator Pro, and it’s a bit tasty.

The base design of the glove remains the same as the standard Pro that De Gea has worn to such impressive effect in recent times, and colourway-wise it’s almost a complete whiteout. The only colour to speak of is reserved for the gloves’ signature details: a red adidas logo on the wrist strap, and the double-underlined 100 emoji, which features both on the wrist strap and the heel of the palm. David De Gea’s initials, meanwhile, appear on the top of the wrist strap in black.

Like the regular Pro, the De Gea special edition boasts a URG 2.0 palm for superior grip and shock absorption, and it’s a negative cut in line with his personal preference. Only 50 pairs have been produced, making this one of the most exclusive limited edition gloves around.

Could De Gea follow Petr Cech and make it to 200 Premier League clean sheets? We’ll have to wait and see on that one, but in the meantime, let’s join adidas in celebrating one of the best keepers ever to play in England. Vamos, David!

The adidas Predator Pro DDG 100 Limited Edition Goalkeeper Glove is now sold out, but you can check out the rest of the adidas range, including the new Virtuso Pack, in our Keepers section.
