Kappa Napoli Retro Collection
It’s no surprise to see the Italian brand making a special effort for their compatriots: Kappa signed a record five-year deal with Napoli in 2015, and they’re by some margin the biggest club on their books (apart from the mighty Bangor City, of course).
There are two shirts in the collection, three jackets, and a pair of track pants, all featuring those instantly recognisable bands of the “Omini” logo down the sides. The home shirt’s something of a mishmash of various kits of the early 90s, when the likes of Gianfranco Zola, Paolo Di Canio, and Daniel Fonseca were wearing the famous sky blue, while the away is directly inspired by the unique 1982-83 change strip with the club-mascot donkey “N” logo.
As for the tracksuits, it’s the pair of white jackets we’re most drawn to, particularly that 82-83 look. There’s just something about a white tracksuit top – especially when it’s Italian. The striped design looks even better on a jacket, and the “SSCN 1926” lettering on the back is perfectly sized too, just the right amount of bravado.
The tracksuit bottoms, meanwhile, don’t feature the popper design seen on UK estates everywhere in the 90s, instead going for a straightforward cuffed ankle that, to be fair, is much more in keeping with actual trainingwear.
