AIK drop fresh limited edition Behrens shirt
Move aside PSG, the Tuxedo Squad is coming through. Today, Swedish giants AIK have upped their campaign to be recognised as the most stylish club in the world with the release of the stunning AIK Behrens jersey.
Named after the club’s first chairman, Isodor Behrens, and based on the club’s first-ever shirt, this magnificent retro-inspired jersey features an oversized badge on a clean canvass.
Despite starting out in white, Allmänna Idrottsklubben (AIK), which translates as the sports club for everyone, soon changed to black home kits with the proud boast that they were the only club do to so for well over a century.
But they’re ripping up convention again to release this collector’s white version with that oversized badge on the chest.
The AIK organisation has always been different and picked up the nickname of Smokinglirare (the Tuxuedo Squad) after their Brandy team, a winter sport played on ice, choose to play in their army suits, complete with bow ties. See, these guys know a thing or two about style.
AIK are not about just looking good, though. They were founded on the basis of inclusiveness and the belief that sport has the power to change the world for the better. Two pillars that they have fiercely clung on to.
To celebrate this release, the Gnaget will be paying for 129 kids to attend Sweden’s largest camp, Stadium Sportscamp, through a percentage of the revenue taken from sales of the shirts.
Following on from the super-clean Black and White edition jerseys last season, AIK are continuing to push the boundaries of soccer style in their own unique way. If you want to join the revolution don’t hang around because these fill fly.
The limited edition release is available from Pro:Direct Soccer right now and once you’ve copped one, head over to our social channels on YouTube, Twitter, Insta and Facebook to stay ahead of the game.
