Nike Air Jordan 11 Concord
A Basketball Shoe? Isn't this Pro:Direct Soccer?
It might well be, but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate some of the finest sneakers ever to be released. The Air Jordan 11 Concord returns this December and our slam dunk loving pals at Pro:Direct Basketball are ready to be your destination to pick up a pair of the Grail.
In legend, the Holy Grail refers to the most sought after and difficult to obtain object. After the Air Jordan 11 appeared on court back in 1995, the scarcity of pairs meant for many these would become unrelenting objects of desire - thereby acquiring the legendary status of 'Grail' to this day. Now Nike and Jordan brand are bringing the shoes back - just as Michael Jordan himself wore in 1995.
Why is it a big deal?
Before that debut in 1995 Michael Jordan tasked legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield for a performance basketball sneaker that was equally suitable for formal occasions to sit underneath his suits. Hatfield delivered this and more with the Air Jordan 11 - the now famous high-cut patent leather overlay and icy translucent sole, a white ballistic mesh upper is detailed with smooth leather finishes and the traditional Jumpman branding throughout have become iconic outside of the courts.
But I'm a different kind of baller...
That might be true, but you can't wear your boots all the time now, can you? (Trust us - we've tried and we don't recommend it). This is where the Air Jordan 11 comes in and why you should pay attention - this sneaker is as much about looking fly pre or post game as it is when you're on the pitch. Neymar rocks a pair, as does DJ Khaled, Justin Timberlake, Carmelo Anthony... the Jumpman logo has just as much street cred as it does performance roots.
