In more recent years Fran moved club’s as she took on tougher and higher responsibilities by moving to Chelsea. In the same summer she competed in her first FIFA World Cup in 2015, Canada. Scoring against Mexico in a 2-1 win, she unfortunately was ruled out with injury for the rest of the tournament and watched on as England finished third.

Continued club success gained Fran another tournament call-up to the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 in Holland. Again, scoring in England’s second group fixture against Spain. England went onto lose to the hosts in the semi-final, however another pretty successful tournament for the Women’s International side.
